The bull-sale season is in full swing. Just open up a livestock publication and you’ll find tons of adds offering bulls of every make and model. As a small beef producer, how do you decide who you are going to buy your bulls (and/or replacement females) from? What services do you expect from those breeders? Is there something that a certain breeder does that you’ve been impressed with and it’s made you come back to their bull sale time and again? Or, is there something you wish breeders offered for smaller operations that would earn your business?
